A 5-year-old boy died of the injuries he sustained after getting stuck in a revolving restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.

This was determined by experts in charge of the case, which has moved the city, where the little boy, Charlie Holt, was visiting with his parents, residents of Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to police, a distress call was received around 3:26 pm alerting that a child had been injured at the Sun Dial restaurant, located on the 72nd floor of the Westin Hotel.

“The restaurant floor rotates clockwise to offer views of the city. The family was sitting at a table by the windows,”police said in a statement sent to People.

“At some point, the boy walked away from the table (…) and somehow, the boy got stuck between the wall and the table as the restaurant continued to spin. The revolving floor stopped automatically. The Westin's security team and its employees were able to get him out. However, the boy suffered critical injuries and later died in the hospital, he added.

For now, the restaurant remains closed until further notice, a hotel spokesperson told The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"The family asks for your prayers and privacy for now, to be able to deal with this tragedy," the family said in a statement released Saturday after the minor's death. “There are no words to express their loss. If you have a loved one, please hug them today."
