The terrifying moment when a man tries to kidnap an 8-year-old boy during a school wrestling competition was recorded on local security cameras.
According to the Oklahoma City police shared in a statement, last Friday they received an emergency call reporting an attempted kidnapping during a state fair.
"A man picked up an 8-year-old boy and tried to take him away. When the boy started kicking him and yelling, the man released him and left," reads part of the message shared by the police department on its official Facebook page.
The photographic record captured by security cameras shows the man dressed in a vest, sweatpants and a cap. According to the authorities' description, the alleged kidnapper measures around six feet and has features of Native American or Hispanic.
In the same message, the police call for the community to release information that could lead to the capture of the suspect, also offering a cash reward.
