As her character Marisol "Flaca" Gonzales wanted in the Netflix series Orange Is The New Black, the actress and singer of Dominican descent Jackie Cruz has become the face of Kat Von D's new Go Big Or Go Home mascara Beauty that is 100% vegan. After having been a fan of the brand for years since the makeup artist of the series used it on her to create the looks of her character, this collaboration reaches the actress in one of her best moments when she prepares to release her first album. "My friend said to them, 'Wow, Jackie likes the Kat Von Diner and Flaca uses it on set, we've been using it since the first season,'" she says.

"Right now they are going to know me thanks to Kat Von D Beauty," Cruz said, referring to the fact that now people will be able to meet her beyond her character. However, Cruz accepts that in some ways he resembles Flaca, who was also a fan of the brand. “We have a lot in common like music, and it's very ambitious. She takes something like her prison experience and tries to get something good out of her,”explains Cruz.

In addition to her love for makeup, Cruz has always taken care of her skin with the best advice her mother gave her when she was little. "My mom had me with the mask to sleep from the age of seven … I can't sleep without the mask, and also petroleum jelly under the eye that they told me was good for wrinkles," he says. She also recommended homemade recipes with tomato to erase the spots and with avocado to hydrate the skin.
