What started as a Facebook ad to search for housing for just over a month in New York, made Dr. Rehan Munir a new social media sensation.
On June 15 Munir posted a message on his account on that social network explaining that he is coming from Pakistan to the Big Apple to do his medical residency and that he needs a home near Mount Sinai Heart Hospital.
The message said: “Hello everyone. I'm Rehan, I'm looking to rent a furnished room on the Upper East Side, Upper West Side or Midtown of Manhattan. I plan to move around July 20 and stay until August 30. My budget is around $ 800, but I could stretch it a little more.”
His text also included a description of him, indicating that he is a 26-year-old doctor and that in addition to being professional and friendly, he is very clean and that it is "easy to live with" him.
That in itself was enough to make him a coveted bachelor, but what definitively melted the networks were his photographs, because in addition to all the virtues he described, it is very pleasing to the eye. Hence, many women (and even men) began to invite him to live with them, and even for free! The marriage proposals were not lacking either.
"It was quite overwhelming," the popular doctor told HuffPost. "I wrote it and the next day I got up and saw the messages pouring in … The message had been used on both local and international news sites. I found it very funny, the Internet is really unpredictable.”
