When an event as important as the Latin Grammy is approaching, the celebrities spare no effort to be more than prepared for the big night. The search for the perfect dress or dresses, the right shoes, accessories and other things that keep them very busy the weeks before the event. And it is that the reflectors of the cameras will be capturing every detail. But not only the outfit and accessories are important, but also the hairstyle and makeup. Because if the skin is not in optimal conditions there is no makeup that is worth it. That is why the famous ones are put into expert hands to perform the most exquisite facials and treatments days or even weeks before parading on a carpet.

We spoke with Dr. Mariana Vergara, a specialist in aesthetic medicine, to tell us about those special treatments that the stars ask for before a special event.

“A month before the event I make them a laser to tone. That is one of the safest treatments for any skin type. The good thing is that it does not require recovery time”, says the expert. "It helps with wrinkles, superficial lines, skin texture and shrinks pores."

Of course, as Vergara explains, that is just one of the treatments that our favorite artists undergo. And it is that nothing is too much when it comes to having a silky and perfect skin. In fact, most of the time, the doctor combines several treatments to make the result even more spectacular.

“The diamond peel is one of the treatments that I perform the most on celebrities the day before the event. It consists of a microdermabrasion, but what differentiates this treatment from others is that the tip is diamond. It can be done the day before or the day of the event”, explains Vergara, who offers her services at Privet Aesthetics, in Beverly Hills. "[With this] the skin looks smoother, the pores diminish in size, the expression lines diminish and the whole texture of the skin improves"

To complement that facial and take advantage to hydrate the skin to the maximum and thus the results are more visible and lasting, the doctor also recommends an oxygen treatment.

"Another treatment I do when preparing for a red carpet is the oxygen facial. I use a hyaluronic acid solution that hydrates the skin,”he says. "Oxygen allows the solution to penetrate the skin and also regenerates and promotes circulation."

The key is to combine them and of course do it with a professional with Vergara, in order to avoid having disastrous results in an area as delicate as the face.

"These treatments I combine most of the time and end everything with an LED mask," says Vergara. "This mask helps regenerate skin cells and [also] promotes circulation"
