This past Saturday ended the most important week for fashion in the Dominican Republic, where some of the best fashion exponents in that country presented their new collections that do not have much to envy that of other international designers. During this important celebration we were able to see the new collection by designer Giannina Azar, a favorite of celebrities such as Thalía and Jennifer López, as well as renowned designers from the island such as Leonel Lirio, Jenny Polanco and Carlos de Moya, who impressed us with their exquisite collections. In addition to younger artists and with super-trendy and modern proposals such as Rafael Rivero, Michelle Reynoso and Miguel Genao. Of course, undoubtedly the most anticipated parade was the Oscar de la Renta with which this special week closed.
The parade of the new collection of the fashion house of the late designer took place in the Parque Colón in front of the majestic Catedral Primada de América and was enlivened by the philharmonic of the maestro José Antonio Molina.
The brand's spring / summer 2019 collection, created under the command of the new creative director, Dominican Fernando García and his partner Laura Kim, included super-feminine pieces with flights, lace very Oscar-style, but also more modern ones, with simple silhouettes and very avant-garde, reflecting the aesthetics of García and Kim.
This magical presentation closed with a flourish at Dominicana Moda 2018 and left us all looking forward to returning next year and enjoying the incredible talent that Dominican artists have.
