Mexican makeup artist Kat Von D is at the center of another controversy. The makeup artist, who a few months ago had a fight with her exam Jeffree Star, has now attacked the Makeup Revolution brand and accuses them of having plagiarized one of her shadow palettes. She first claimed them through her Instagram account after one of her followers made her see that Makeup Revolution had a palette very similar to that of the makeup artist. His is called Shade + Light Eye Contour Palette, and theirs is Ultra Eye Contour Light & Shade. Apart from the similarity in the name it seems that Makeup Revolution also copied the colors of the shadows as well as the presentation of the product.

Von D then further expressed his frustration through a 20-minute video posted on his YouTube channel. "I worked really hard on creating the palette in so many different ways - not just on art and naming it."

Of course, it seems that you do not want to focus on this topic for a long time. "When we start normalizing unfair things, I don't think it's good," he explains. But if something stands firm, it is that it is important to defend yourself and defend your art. "I give myself in everything I do for you, so it does affect and annoy me when a company is opportunistic and takes advantage of someone else's hard work," adds Von D.

In the video he explains what his creative process is, shows the studio where he works and shows us where he tests each of his products before making them available to the public. "My intention will never be to inspire negativity," he explains of the video. “Ultimately my goal is to inspire and defend what I think is correct.
