Makeup techniques have changed a lot in recent years - thanks in part to celebrities like the Kardashian / Jenner sisters - and the way companies promote their products has changed in the same way. Covergirl is always one of the first to adopt new trends and especially break molds. That is exactly what they just did when they first named a man as their new image or rather as their new Covergirl.
The lucky one is super talented vlogger and social media star James Charles. The young man, who has almost half a million followers on his Instagram page, has become an expert in the art of makeup and shows his skills in the videos he uploads to his YouTube channel.
"[Covergirls] are role models, break barriers, express themselves without fear, defend their ideas and redefine the meaning of beauty," the company said in a press release.
The person in charge of announcing the news was another of the brand ambassadors Katy Perry, who uploaded a photo to her social networks with her new partner.
"Ending another photo shoot for Covergirl," wrote the singer next to the image. "I am honored to announce the first Coverboy, James Charles, follow him."
In addition to Perry and Charles, Sofía Vergara, Ellen DeGeneres, Becky G and Zendaya are also spokespersons for the company.
