60-year-old Swimsuit Editorial Model For H&M

Models are usually very young girls, but thanks to some brands like H&M, this trend is changing. The company hired model Gillean McLeod, 60, to star in the firm's summer swimwear editorial.

McLeod started her modeling career at 53 by chance, while working as a fashion stylist, and since then has participated in campaigns with major companies such as Charles Schwab, Tempur-Pedic and Bank of America.

“I can't explain to you how much modeling has changed my life. I am much more sure of myself. I've always been in shape, but now I make more effort [to be],”the model told H&M. “I am proud not to wear botox or anything like that. That seems forced and strange to me. I feel happy as I am. And look here I am, doing a photo shoot in a swimsuit.”

McLeod is just one of the new and different faces of modeling, whom major brands continue to hire to promote their pieces. Like her, Nicola Griffin, 56, Iris Apfel, 94, and Carmen Dell'Orefice, 85, continue to work and make a splash with their impressive skills in modeling.
