For Satcha Pretto her daughter Alana's first year passed in “the blink of an eye”. The co-host of Despierta América (Univision) has celebrated every feat of the baby, from her first steps to her first word. Here she tells us how her life has changed.

How has your life changed now as a mom?

“Life is becoming more practical. Alana's first year I feel it was the blink of an eye. We have enjoyed it enormously. She is very sweet, friendly, flirtatious. She loves her brother. The first thing she said was da-da at seven months. They always say dad first. I was super excited. We watched the video over and over again. I recorded it and sent it to him. When she gets home she sees him and says da-da. Mom said it at the end of the seven months. She already says more words, she has 7. Mom, given, more, there, ball, several little things. At 10 months she began to take her first steps and is already running. People ask me if it is the same with the second and one gets excited just the same. It is a different experience. You are creating new memories with her.”

What is your little girl's personality like?

Alana is a warrior. She never despairs. We took her to the beach at four months old and she was fascinated. I watched the waves, I played with the sand. She sat down at 5 months. The first time she tasted food that I gave her carrot was at 6 months. You want to play with it as if it were a doll. She is very playful, very flirtatious, she loves to see herself in the mirror. They are very different. She is more sociable and Bruce is more analytical, more serious. When she is older we will go shopping, do our nails and it is one more complicity of friends”.

How do you organize yourself?

“God gives mothers wisdom and strength. The discipline of sport and exercise helps me to organize myself. Sometimes you feel like you have the reins of everything in your life and other times you feel like it's a disaster. That's right, there are ups and downs. All afternoon I am with them. I sleep very little but it works. One is adapting. It is difficult, it is a big challenge but it is also a fantastic experience, it is an indescribable love. Every day you love them more. It is a job of total dedication and you learn to be humble, to be patient and to want to be a better person”.
