This is not a drill.
After nearly 20 years, The Magic School Bus -yes, and Ms. Frizzle- are coming back. Netflix is reviving the iconic children's show, which was formerly on PBS, after the streaming service's recent success from reboots including Gilmore Girls and Fuller House.
Being that many years have passed since the original show aired, the revival will be fitting to today's children with a top-of-the-line school bus equipped with all types of modern gadgets and technology. Among the changes are celebrity cameos that producer Stu Stone, who voiced Ralphie in the '90s classic, says will be joining original cast members.
“There are tons of cameos planned. I know that there are big stars who want to be involved in this,”Stone told TMZ. "And there's a whole generation of people who grew up on this series that want to be a part of it now that it's back."
No cast names have been released as Netflix and Stone are keeping information on the debut under wraps. The show that was originally planned to debut in 2016 is in the works to premiere in 2017.
