This Is How Jennifer López's Cover Makeup Was Achieved

To make a cover with an artist like Jennifer López you need an army of people, but one of the most important people is the makeup artist, who is in charge of leaving the star looking even more radiant. For our November cover, with which we celebrate our 20th anniversary, the person in charge of this important commission was the talented Mary Phillips, the artist's head makeup artist and the one who always creates that incomparable look we all love.

We spoke with Phillips so that he could tell us step by step how he achieved this very modern and classic makeup that López wears in the spectacular photos of the magazine taken in the city of Los Angeles.

“The first word that comes to mind is glamor. Something more or less like the days before, Hollywood glamor mixed with a modern version of glamor, "says the expert. "She looks absolutely beautiful. I love all the looks”.

López has always been known for a luminous face that undoubtedly reflects well-groomed skin.

"Jennifer's skin has always had its mark which is that glow that starts with having amazing skin before applying makeup," explains Phillips. "A good serum, moisturizer and eye cream are vital to get skin like yours."

To highlight López's skin, the makeup artist applied warm colors. On the cheeks a blush, both powder and cream, in peach color, lip liner in natural peach color and a lipgloss of the same tone.

"The color on the lips and cheeks highlighted very well the colors that I applied around her eyes, which were brown, gold, cream and a brown gray that we highlighted with a liquid liner," she says. "[I applied] three coats of mascara to her lashes to add volume and drama."
