A mother in Texas is mourning the death of her three-year-old son. Logan Harvill, the mother's ex-boyfriend, was arrested and faces charges for the boy's murder. On Tuesday, little Christian Paz died in his mother's arms after being disconnected from life support machines, local media KENS5, KBTX and WOAI reported.
Two days earlier, Christian was rushed to a San Antonio hospital. The boy came unconscious after being placed in the care of Logan Harvill, his mother's ex-boyfriend. Doctors determined that he was brain dead. "My world feels so empty without it," his mother told KENS5.
Harvill was caring for her stepson while the mother worked, according to a GoFundMe account created by the family after the tragedy. Harvill called 911 and reported that the boy was not awake, according to authorities. The 29-year-old man faces charges of injuring a minor and is in jail on bail for a murder.
"He was sweet, loving, bright, a funny baby with big brown eyes and wavy hair," said the boy's family in a message they shared with KBTX. "Our hearts are broken. We love him and miss him so much.”
