Kansas City police are investigating the death of the two-year-old boy Dévonté Lashawn Turner, who this Sunday night was found dead inside a car where he was locked up for hours. Incredible as it may seem, his mother, who was not with him when he was locked up, assures that that day she sensed that "something bad" would happen.

According to KBMC station, a person notified authorities that a child had been found inside a car parked outside a house located on Iowa Street around 5:30 p.m.

Gregory Burns, Lawrence Police Chief said at a press conference that when they arrived at the scene, the boy was already dead.

Temperatures in Lawrence reached 88 degrees Fahrenheit, according to indices recorded by the National Weather Service.

The high temperatures were pointed out as the possible cause in the death of little Dévonté, however, the authorities are still investigating his death.

So far it has not been clarified who was the person who left the child alone and locked in the car. However, the family reported through a GoFUndMe page established to help with the minor's funerals, that the minor was under the care of a relative on the day of his death.

Kristina Turner, the boy's mother, assured KMBC station that she had "a strange feeling" that day before Devonté's death. "Not a moment will pass without me remembering my son or looking to the side thinking that she should be there," she said.

“We have no money for the expenses of his funeral. We lost our two-year-old son due to the negligence of renting more,”he assured himself with a hint of outrage and anger on the page for the benefit of the minor.

According to the Univision network, in the last 20 months, 85 children have died in the United States who have been forgotten or locked inside a car. 53 of them died from extreme heat in 2018. This 2019 the account already adds 32 deaths.
