A couple is accused of the brutal murder of their newborn daughter. A man and a woman are behind bars in Houston after being accused of abusing their baby and killing her. The girl had been born prematurely and was killed just days after leaving the hospital, Harris County District Attorney Kim Ogg reported.

Father Jason Paul Robin, 24, is charged with murder while mother Katharine Wyndham White, 21, is accused of child abuse and omitting the murder of her daughter Jazmine Robin.

The newborn reportedly died on July 15, 2018, just 12 days after arriving home from the hospital. An autopsy revealed that he died of blows to the head. She had bruises on her face and scalp, and her body had 96 fractures, including 71 rib fractures and a broken skull.

"The evidence shows that baby Jazmine was the victim of those who should have cared for her more than anything else in this world," Ogg revealed. "After conducting a full and detailed investigation of the facts, we have filed charges and are seeking justice for little Jazmine."

Police were called to a children's hospital where the girl was treated and doctors noted that the baby "had suffered severe blows to the head." If found guilty, her parents could spend the rest of their lives in prison, Fox 5 reported.
