Ashley Gutiérrez, 25, was killed and leaves her 10-month-old son an orphan. The father of the young Mexican woman asks for justice for her death. Ashley was shot to death in the head on October 30 while in a homeless camp in downtown Houston.
Her father revealed that Ashley was there looking for a cousin who lived on the street. "It is hard for the whole family, for me, for his mother," his father Dennis Mendez told Univision Channel 45 in Houston.
The unexpected loss of the young mother has plunged her family into terrible pain. Although her parents do not understand the reason for this senseless crime, the worst thing is knowing that her grandson will grow up without her mother. "It will be very difficult for him not to have a mother," Mendez adds about the baby.
His relatives have called on the authorities and the community to find Gutiérrez's killer. The worst thing for them is not having the slightest clue of who may have killed their daughter and why. She was simply in the wrong place at the least indicated time, they assure their loved ones, and they demand justice.
