Authorities have arrested Christhian Behena Rivera, 24, as a suspect in the murder of Mollie Tibbetts, announced Rick Rahn of the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation. The 20-year-old Tibbetts corpse, an Iowa college student who went missing in July, he was found in a cornfield in Guernsey, about a 15-minute drive from Brooklyn, where Tibbetts was last seen alive, a police source told PEOPLE.

About five weeks after Tibbetts was reported missing after jogging - and an intense search by authorities, loved ones and members of her community - the search ended in tragedy.

Rahn said Rivera had taken authorities to find the body. According to police, Rivera confessed to approaching Tibbetts when she jogged through her neighborhood. The man first drove in circles near the young woman and then began to run beside her, saying that Tibbetts had threatened to call the police if he did not leave her alone. Rahn said Rivera "seemed to be attracted to her on that particular day and decided to kidnap her." According to Rahn, Rivera is an undocumented immigrant who had worked in the area for several years.

What helped solve the case was a security camera that caught Tibbetts when he jogged. The video showed a black Chevy Malibu, a car that according to the authorities belonged to Rivera, and they realized that he had been one of the last people to see her alive the day she jogged and never returned home.
