The bosom of a Hispanic community living in the Bronx is deeply indignant at the news that the warehouse in front of which a 15-year-old man was hacked to death with machetes was about to reopen.

Guzmán-Feliz “Junior”, a 15-year-old boy of Dominican origin was hacked to death by members of the fearsome “Los Trinitarios” gang on the night of June 20 at the corner of a store located on 183rd Street and Bathgate Avenue., in the mentioned county of New York.

The murder shocked public opinion and since then the store has remained closed, but according to The New York Times the site was acquired by new owners who plan to reopen it.

The community has expressed its outrage because since the events occurred, the city has been asked to convert the site into a church or youth support center.

The new owners have tried to calm things down by offering to call the new store "Junior" the tribute to the deceased boy. But Leandra Feliz, mother of the minor, is opposed to the idea. "I really would like [to open a church or community center," the woman told the newspaper, "but instead they are going to open a warehouse."

"This is not a neighborhood to raise children," said Gloria Arroyo, one of the neighbors who opposes the reopening. "That night is stuck in the hearts of all of us who live here," exclaimed the woman, who plans to move out of the area as she revealed.

The night of the murder, Modesto Cruz, owner of the winery, was working at the scene and cameras captured the moment the victim entered to ask for refuge because the gang members were chasing him. The video shows how the man - who was accompanied by an employee - stares when the gang members arrive and drag the teenager out to attack him with machetes.

Then, the young man returns bleeding to the premises to ask for help but in the video the shopkeeper is observed telling him to go to the St. Barnabas hospital, located one block away. The boy collapsed on the road and then passed away.
