Without an official explanation, many theories have emerged about Lourdes Stephen's unexpected departure from Univision.

One of the most famous so far points to an incident involving the driver's husband, lawyer Michael Víctor Puchades, after Donald Trump's victory in the 2016 presidential election.

After confirming the triumph of the New York magnate, Puchades shared a message on social networks addressed to Jorge Ramos, an outspoken critic of the president and with whom he starred in a resounding clash in the electoral campaign.

"Goodbye Jorge Ramos, now you will have your great opportunity to fight for your country in Mexico, not in your mansion in Coral Gables. Glory to God," wrote the Cuban-American lawyer, who added: "God Bless America."

The dart to the Univision star journalist did not go unnoticed and several users reproached him for his words, particularly for the fact that his wife at the time also worked at the Miami-based network.

Faced with the repercussion of his words, both positive and negative, Puchades decided to make his Instagram account private and closed his Twitter account, but not before launching another criticism. "You only think [about] what Univision says. What proof do you have that he [Donald Trump] said that all Mexicans are criminals," he wrote. "Show me the proof." ó ‡ öß} yãgû㧺ßfýÛ-ÛÓÍ {qý} × wõéýÜ

At no time did Stephen enter the controversy and limited himself to sharing happy family photos with Puchades and their son, Víctor.

Whether that episode really influenced Stephen's departure from the network is so far impossible to confirm or rule out. The same Dominican presenter did not want to speak in an interview with People en Español on Tuesday about the reasons for her departure and the network did not want to elaborate on the issue.

A Univision spokesperson only confirmed that Stephen would no longer work with them, but declined to explain why. So the only thing that is certain so far is that the former Salt and Pepper driver, as she said in the interview, is happy and grateful to the company that saw her grow as a professional and is waiting for new projects.

Good luck Lourdes!
