President Donald Trump re-created controversy with his Twitter account when he was mistaken for the incident when he offered his condolences to the families of the victims of a shooting.
The president expressed his solidarity in a tweet after at least four people were killed and 10 others injured in a shooting Tuesday at Rancho Tehama Reserve, in northern California. The problem is that he mentioned the wrong shooting.
May God be with the people of Sutherland Springs, Texas. The FBI and the authorities have already arrived [at the scene],”was the tweet that Trump shared on Tuesday night.
Sutherland Springs is the location of the church where Devin Kelly murdered 26 people and wounded 20 others on November 5.
Trump's mistake sparked a wave of criticism on the social network. Some users pointed out that it was the same message that they shared when the tragedy in Texas happened, and said that they did not even bother to change the town affected by the tragedy.
A user wondered if Trump now had a “template” ready to send this type of condolences, after the proliferation of shootings with multiple victims that have been recorded in recent times.
“It is the same tweet. The mass shootings have now literally become a 'fill in the gap' game, said another user, also unhappy with the president's reaction.
