People En Espanol And Zoe Saldana Visit Cuba For A Photo Shoot

Cuba, we have arrived!

On Friday, People en Español editors traveled to Havana for the magazine's first couture fashion shoot in Cuba, featuring renowned Hollywood actress Zoe Saldaña.

Zoe -one of the stars of the Avatar, Guardians of the Galaxy and Star Trek films- will play a 1920s Cuban woman in Live by Night, opposite Ben Affleck, who also directed her performance in the film.

Zoe arrived in Havana just in time to celebrate her birthday on Sunday, where she will be highlighted on People en Español's shoot, which will feature gowns from top Hispanic designers like Carolina Herrera, Oscar de la Renta, Angel Sanchez and Oscar Carvallo, among others.

“It is a dream come true to be here in Cuba. All my life I have been in awe of Cuba and have respected the Cuban culture. To finally be here in the flesh and walk down the streets among the Cubans that live here is a gift that I will never take for granted.”, Zoe told People en Español.

Editor in Chief, Armando Correa; Creative DIrector, Herman Vega and Fashion Director, Ursula Carranza lead the editorial team on site capturing every moment of the visit, which will be featured on our Fashion Issue, on the September magazine. The session will be shot by renowned photographer Omar Cruz.

People en Español's fashion shoot will be the first one done in Havana by a US-based, Spanish-language publication.
