Seth Meyers' Baby Was Born

Television presenter Seth Meyers shared his baby's peculiar arrival to the world; His building was born in the lobby on Sunday April 8th.

The Late Night with Seth Myers host, 44, saved his son's birth story, Axel Strahl, to give the scoop during his show on Monday where he showed unreleased footage of his wife Alexi Ashe lying on the ground holding your child in your arms. The comedian said his baby boy "couldn't wait for his parents to arrive at the hospital to make his debut."

"I called 911 and over the course of a one-minute conversation, I said, 'We're about to have a baby, we're going to have a baby, we're having a baby,'" Meyers said.

The proud new father started crying as he talked about his wife, but tried to avoid tears with a joke: "I am choking on how brave I was."

The New York Police Department arrived just at the time of birth to help Myers and his wife cut the umbilical cord and wrap the baby in warm towels. Several neighbors also witnessed the moment until the ambulance arrived to assist his wife.

Meyers explained that her son's middle name honors Alexi's grandparents, who met at a hospital in Austria the day after they were released from a concentration camp. He also showed a photo of the birth on the show, which showed his wife while emergency personnel had an oxygen mask in her mouth. Meyers knelt beside him, smiling at the camera.
