The former girlfriend of Dominican baseball player José Reyes was arrested Tuesday for allegedly threatening two women at a Starbucks in Long Island, New York, with a gun and a high-heeled shoe.
According to reports, Christina Sánchez was waiting for her family court hearing in the town of Westbury, where she maintains a lawsuit against the New York Mets player. There she entered into an altercation with two women in the parking lot of the cafeteria.
Liann Schramm told the New York Post that she and a friend were parking their car and Sánchez was occupying two spaces in the car lot, so they told her "pay attention."
Sanchez then threw his cup of coffee into the vehicle of the women who responded by emptying their coffee on the roof of their Mercedes-Benz. Angered, Sánchez got out of the vehicle threatening them with metal knuckles and one of her high-heeled shoes, according to what the newspaper reported.
"I'm in dress and heels and I can still fuck them up!" the woman yelled, according to testimony from Schramm and his friend. "I said, 'Are you seriously going to fight me?' And she replied 'You don't know who you're messing with. I have a lot of power. '”
Police arrested Sánchez at the scene and charged her with a felony of criminal possession of a weapon.
His arrest and the fact that Reyes did not appear at the hearing - because according to his lawyers he did not know that he had to appear at the appointment - led the judge to schedule a new appointment in court for December 13.
The model secretly had a daughter with Reyes - who is married and has three children - eight years ago. The woman is taking him to court because, according to what he has said, the baseball player asked him to keep the birth of the creature a secret and that in 2015 he stopped helping her when his wife found out about the girl's existence.
