A little boy of just 2 years old accidentally shot his father in St. Louis, Missouri, while playing with a loaded pistol.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch newspaper, on Saturday afternoon police responded to a call to come to a house in the north of the city after a kind of shooting had been heard.

Upon arrival at the scene they found a 27-year-old individual named Darrion Noble, who was bleeding profusely from a gunshot wound to the neck. Without being able to do anything to save his life, his death was certified.

Agents later found out that the fatal shot was the result of an accident. Her youngest son was in bed playing with a loaded.38 caliber revolver when he pulled the trigger, catching up with his father in his sleep.

At the house were three other minors, a 13-year-old girl and Noble's daughters, 10 and 5 years old. His wife was not home at the time.

It was the girls who ran to the neighbor's house to ask for help. It was he who called 911.

The authorities declared that the death of the young father of the family had been accidental.

In the United States, 13,286 people died from firearms and more than double that number were injured in 2016.
