A 25-year-old man confessed to being the perpetrator of the brutal stabbing murder of 3 girls under the age of 10 in Maryland, which has deeply moved public opinion.

Antonio Williams, 25, and brother of one of the victims, admitted to committing the heinous crime Friday night when he was cared for by his sister, Nadira Withers, 6, and his nieces, Ariana Decree, 9; and Nadira Withers, 6.

The two little sisters were visiting the home and were from Newark, New Jersey, according to ABC reports.

"The preliminary investigation revealed that Williams was in charge of looking after the girls Thursday night through Friday," Anthony Schartner, Prince George's County Police Captain, said Monday at a news conference. "He has confessed to having murdered the victims."

Williams' mother had charged the alleged murderer with the care of the 3 minors and another 2-year-old boy - who was not injured in the incident - while she went to work at night.

The 3 girls were found on Friday around 7:30 am by the woman when she returned home. The girls were in a bed in the basement of the house and had lacerations on the upper body.

“At this time we have no reason; we don't know exactly why [Williams] stabbed these three beautiful little girls,”Captain Schartner stressed at the moving press conference.

"[This] is one of the most difficult [crime] scenes" the police department has encountered, Sammy Patel, alternate sheriff of Prince George's County, told the AP agency. The official said the county will provide emotional help to first responders who came to the site.

Williams remains in the custody of the authorities, without bail, and now faces three counts of murder and 3 counts of second-degree murder.
