Legendary singer Phil Collins was forced to cancel two concerts in London, part of his Not Dead Yet world tour, after he had to be hospitalized for a fall at his hotel in the British capital.

"Unfortunately we have to announce that the Phil Collins concert scheduled at the Royal Albert Hall in London is postponed today (June 8) and tomorrow (June 9)," it was reported through the musician's Facebook page. "Phil suffered a fall as a result of the aftermath of the back operation that made it difficult for him to walk."

According to the statement, the 66-year-old singer got up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom and "slipped in the room, hitting himself on the head when he fell against a chair."

He was immediately transferred to the hospital, where a wound near the eye was closed with stitches.

Phil sends his sincere apologies and thanks to the fans. He has had a fantastic week at his first shows in 10 years, thanks people for their warm reaction and is excited to be back,”the statement concluded.

This tour marks the return of the former Genesis drummer after several years of absence from the stage due precisely to the back problems he suffered in a presentation he made with that band in 2009, in which a vertebra of the neck was dislocated.

That led him three years later to announce his retirement for treatment and to spend more time with his family.
