The body of the 4-year-old girl who fell into the icy waters of a river in Utah was found, ending a tragedy that was unleashed after the child's fall into the stream and led to the death of her mother and a Good Samaritan who also perished trying to save her.

The remains of little London De Dios were found Tuesday below the water level of the Provo River, where the girl was stuck between logs a mile from where she originally fell, People magazine confirmed.

The events occurred on Monday, when the girl was sitting on rocks next to her mother, 34-year-old Brenda Nalleli De Dios, and suddenly fell into the water. Six people immediately jumped into the river to save her, including her mother and 30-year-old Sean Thayne, a man who was at the site and tried to help despite not knowing the victim or his family.

"We were there for a picnic. Brenda was making sandwiches before [what happened],” Tawny De Dios, sister-in-law of the deceased woman, told CBS affiliate in Salt Lake City. "[This is] something I don't want to ever happen again."

The adults were located the same Monday, a couple of miles down from where the girl fell. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital but could not be revived.

The search for the minor resumed in the early hours of Tuesday and various media released photos of the staff who were working hard to locate her.
