The moment of truth has arrived for the baseball teams of the United States and Puerto Rico, who tonight face each other in the grand final of the World Baseball Classic, the most important international tournament in that sport.
Puerto Rico has lived each triumph of its selection with a true fervor. So much so, that it has led Tito el Bambino, Víctor Manuelle and other famous Puerto Ricans - and not so famous - to dye their hair yellow, as a sign of their desire for the Puerto Rican squad to conquer the golden medal.
Fans of the American baseball team have also expressed their support through social networks and not missing any of the games that led their team to the final.
This is the fourth edition of the World Baseball Classic, which began on March 6 with 16 teams. To qualify for the grand final, the United States eliminated Japan by defeating it last night 2-1, while Puerto Rico left the Netherlands on the road on Monday, defeating it 4-3.
In the second round, the great favorite, Dominican Republic, had already fallen, not only because it is the cradle of great players, but also because it defended the title.
There are only a few hours left to define who, from a game that starts at 9 pm today, is crowned at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles as the new champion.
