Through a letter from his lawyers, the athlete's wife has expressed her absolute rejection and pain for the unnecessary and improper publication of photos that show the scene of the accident where her husband and daughter Gianna Bryant died.

The images were allegedly taken by a Los Angeles County police officer. According to Gary Robb, a lawyer for the Bryant family, Vanessa went to the Sheriff's office on January 26, the day of the accident, to ask that the area be declared a prohibited space to fly and photograph.

As this statement explains, "this was of vital importance to her as she wanted to protect the dignity of all victims and their families." However, it was not possible and someone broke the rules.
