Stephanie Himonidis, is one of the hosts of the morning show Un nuevo día (Telemundo). The Mexican decided to leave Los Angeles and settled in the city of the sun where she has gained the affection of the public as the Chiquibaby, but why not use her real name? The also presenter and producer of the radio show El show de Chiquibaby told us everything exclusively.

How do you feel about being part of A new..?

I can say that it is the most important moment I am going through because I am living something that I yearned for a long time, which is to be in a morning program on a national level, it finally happened.

Was integration with your colleagues difficult?

It is not easy to join a team that is already consolidated. It wasn't that easy, but we've had very good chemistry.

Why do they call you Chiquibaby?

Many people know and many do not, that my career as a communicator started on radio and that is where my nickname Chiquibaby was born, it was born on radio. All radio announcers have nicknames.

But how did you choose it?

The truth I did not choose it. It was a word that I used when referring to "daddy" or something like that, and in a demo they heard me say that word, then I, the new girl, with a hoarse voice [caught my attention]. They started to tell me '[that the new girl, the Chiquiaby'. Then [on the radio] they asked me, 'Would you like that nickname?' I told them 'the truth I only want the job, so give me the nickname you want'. That is how I started my radio and media career in the United States. That was over sixteen years ago. It was kind of funny, but then it was a good resource because my [true] name was very [difficult for the radio].
