The music platform Apple Music debuts its new hit list with songs from talented artists around the world. Titled SUAVE, the new playlist will include several musical genres.
This time, a woman leads the list with the single “Fresh Air”, to tell a love story in Melii's voice.
"[It] is about understanding how a woman can be blinded by love, and still overcome it and talk about her experience," the singer explained about the single.
The Dominican rapper, who has been climbing the popularity charts, after the success of her mix of the track Bodak Yellow by her compatriot and colleague Cardi B, admits that being under the magnifying glass of demanding music lovers has not been easy.
Melii credits her mother for instilling her taste for music in Spanish with songs by Juan Luis Guerra and Miriam Ortíz, while her aunt played songs by strong women such as Lil 'Kim and the Destiny's Child trio, from which Beyoncé came out.
“I never want to compete with my teammates and only focus on improving the Melii brand. When you focus on perfecting your art and what is in front of you, the only way is up, she expressed on her social networks.
Rosalía, Jhay Cortéz, Jessie Reyes, among others, are also on the list.
