When we talk about Beyoncé, it is understood that we are referring to one of the most important artists of our time. The singer is recognized worldwide for her incredible talent and also for her incomparable style, one that she apparently inherited from her daughter Blue Ivy. Since childhood the girl has been exposed to reflectors and on many occasions has been the companion of her famous mother in important rugs. It is there where we have been able to appreciate the sympathy and also the style that the 7-year-old has. But did you know that the person in charge of dressing her is a young immigrant?
Manuel A. Mendez, is a young Dominican who years ago arrived in the United States where he worked in clothing stores such as H&M and Gap. It was there that he discovered his taste for fashion. One day the opportunity came for him on a tour of that singer.
"You never know. It was something that happened to me without me knowing. I took an opportunity that I was offered on a tour, for a year. Going on tour on tour, different shows are watching me and I think they took my confidence, and I did a good job,”said the young man of humble origin during an interview with Despierta América (Univision). “Doing personal things to the cousin, then it happened to the mother. [There came] a point when they needed a person to do the organizing of the clothes. The opportunity was offered and so I took it. Little by little I think that trust was gaining.”
In the interview, Mendez assures that since the artist's eldest daughter was born, he set out to help the singer in whatever way he could and after a while began to take care of the little girl's wardrobe, whose looks have captivated millions of followers of her mother and have led her to become a mini fashionista.
"I do things as if she were my niece or as if she were my daughter, and I do it with a lot of love," explained the stylist. “The mother has a lot to say also in what the girl wears and also the father. I do many collaborations with different designers, designers that I like or designers that she likes. Also with new designers that nobody knows about them”.
In addition, his important work with the artist, the stylist has just opened his own company Manu Man, a company that will be in charge of organizing the closets of celebrities, as well as designing clothes and collaborating with designers.
A story worth admiring. See here the interview that Mendez gave to Despierta América (Univision).
