Who has not dreamed of having a whole collection of Christian Louboutin brand shoes? In reality, almost all women have or want at least one pair of this sexy shoe, known for its distinctive red sole. The truth is that apart from the striking designs, it is precisely that sole that makes the shoes an object of desire even for the most famous artists in the world. However, a few months ago the famous designer was about to lose the patent that only gives him the authority to make shoes with the sole of that color, prohibiting other designers from putting it in their creations, something that of course had very concerned both him and the millions of fans of the brand.

It was precisely at that time that Christian Louboutin appeared in a court in the Netherlands to defend the patent and prevent the Dutch brand Van Haren and Yves Saint Laurent from putting red soles on their shoes. However, and for the artist's peace of mind, the court of law granted him the exclusivity of the patent on red soles, thus preventing Van Haren, Saint Laurent and other companies from using them in their designs.

"We are extremely pleased that the court found that our arguments were correct. First that color can and does serve as a symbol [of a brand] in the fashion industry and second that the patent for Christian Louboutin's world famous red soles is valid, protected and enforceable, "Louboutin said in a statement to the ABC network right after learning of the court's decision. "As we said during this process and we reiterate it now, we are going to continue taking the necessary steps to protect our patent."

Of course, if both Van Haren or Yves Saint Laurent want to make red shoes with the sole of that same color, they have all the right. What they won't be able to do is put red soles on other shoe colors.
