For quite some time designers have decided to use their talents and designs to show their support for social causes, movements and also for politics. Last year during the presentation of their respective collections, designers such as Christian Siriano, Prabal Gurung and Jeremy Scott made their position very clear regarding the political and social environment that we are experiencing by presenting t-shirts with very clear and forceful messages. Even many stores such as Forever 21, H&M, among others have also sold pieces with messages alluding to politics, feminism or the movement for gender equality, something that most consumers have taken in a good way. However, that has not been the case for J. Crew's new children's t-shirt, which is causing a stir on social media.
It turns out that the brand launched a children's t-shirt with a message that says, "I am also a feminist." It is precisely that simple message that has many happy and furious others.
Some applaud the company for launching a pink T-shirt with such a powerful and important message for this generation, but others criticize it and even assert that they will never buy in any of its stores again.
"Let children be children," wrote one user, while another said, "They are pathetic. I do not buy more in J. Crew”.
The shirt costs $ 29.50 and is a design by J. Crew in collaboration with Prinkshop, a brand that supports and promotes gender equality, and 10% of its sale will benefit Girls Up, an organization that works with the United Nations to support girls around the world.
