Puerto Rican designer Stella Nolasco took us to a fairy tale in the Spring / Summer 2016 show that she presented this Wednesday in New York. With romantic dresses in a palette of delicate tones, rich embroidery and careful details in each of the suits, Nolasco created a visual fable of magical elegance.

“The collection is inspired by the poem Pomarroses by a Puerto Rican poet from my town, José de Diego. The rose apple color is the protagonist in the textiles and the silhouettes and the fluid movement of the pieces on the catwalk are inspired by poetry. The models will be floating”, explains the dressmaker.

Our fashion and beauty director Úrsula Carranza had the opportunity to speak with the designer hours before the show and see the details of her creations.
At the show, makeup artist Fatima Thomas was responsible for creating the look of the models. “The girls had to look fresh, natural but neat. The type of woman who would wear these beautiful dresses”comments the artist from MAC PRO. Diaphanous and perfect skin is trending on the spring catwalks and for Thomas it was the perfect option "because we did not want makeup to compete with the beauty of clothing."

As for the hair, the stylist Jorge Luis made for Privé a braid gathered at the top of the head, slightly tilted. “It occurred to me to do like a hat, a modern, serious, urban girl. I wanted to be creative”, he explains about the hairstyle. "It is easy to do at home, it is two steps, make the ponytail off-center to lower it and make it flat."
