President Donald Trump scored a note of 10 regarding his administration's response to the serious crisis that Puerto Rico is undergoing after the devastating passage of Hurricane Maria a month ago.
"I give a 10 to our response in Puerto Rico (…) We have done a great job," said the President of the United States during his Thursday meeting at the White House with the island's governor, Ricardo Roselló.
Roselló explained at his meeting in the Oval office that was in Washington to ask for equal treatment for the citizens of Puerto Rico and emphasized that "much remains to be done" to achieve the reconstruction of his country.
Trump detailed that he had asked Congress to approve a greater amount of funds to aid the American territory and acknowledged that Maria would have been worse than Katrina, a change of rhetoric regarding her controversial visit to the island.
During his dialogue with the President, Roselló indicated, among other things, that at least 250,000 people lost their homes and only 25 percent of the island's communication antennas work.
Within a month of the hurricane, more than 80 percent of subscribers in Puerto Rico lack electricity, hundreds of thousands of people are still without drinking water, and the country's economy is paralyzed.
