A man who starred in a police chase threw himself into the Miami River. After staging a confrontation with Miami Dade police, the individual was wounded, and died, prison reports say.
The newspaper Diario Las Américas indicated that the man took not one but two cars to flee the police. Likewise, Univision Noticias indicates that after 35 minutes of persecution, the authorities found the suspect inside the Miami River. The man stationed himself on the bridge at 27th Street and North River Drive. The news portal note warns that agents tried to negotiate with the man but he did not want to turn himself in, and allegedly, according to the note, was defiant. After a confrontation with the authorities, Univision Noticias states that there was a flurry of shots. At that moment, the man is injured, and dies on the spot.
The news portal note explains that authorities had experts who tried to negotiate with the man. They were there for at least 20 minutes. But, Univision Noticias explains that the police had to intercede to resolve the situation. After what happened, Juan Pérez, the county police, indicated in a press conference that the subject was wanted by the police and the FBI after having robbed a bank. Therefore, the individual of Hispanic origin was considered dangerous. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the suspect because they had to first report the facts to his family.
