A South Carolina woman was charged with murder for allegedly living for a year in her apartment with the decomposing remains of her newborn baby.
According to People's information, Jamie Melissa Wilson, 41, was arrested last Friday and charged with homicide and child neglect. According to the authorities, Wilson did not take proper care of her baby and is therefore responsible for her death.
Because the baby was found to be in a state of decomposition, doctors have been unable to determine its sex, as well as the cause of its death. The only thing that has been said is that he was almost 9 months old at the time of his death.
The baby was discovered when authorities entered Wilson's home to evict her. The remains were wrapped in a sweatshirt and inside a plastic bag and also inside a handbag, in turn, the bag was inside two garbage containers. The woman told investigators that the baby had been born a year ago and that at birth she had stopped breathing and instead of taking him to a hospital she preferred to hide the remains.
Wilson has no lawyer to defend her and has not yet appeared in court to answer the charges against him.
