Both 2017 and 2018 were very difficult years for many stores that have been part of American culture for many years. Financial problems flooded many companies who had no choice but to sell the majority of their shares, declare bankruptcy and incidentally close dozens of stores around the country. Unfortunately this year bad news keeps coming. This time it was the turn of a very popular store among young women.
We are talking about the chain of stores with affordable pieces Charlotte Russo. This week the company sent a statement announcing that it had filed for bankruptcy and therefore plans to close almost a hundred of its stores, including some of its line of its Peek Kids children's store.
The chain's goal is to sell the company, but while that happens, both the website and the other establishments will continue to operate thanks to the loan of what Charolotte Russe, brands like Michael Kors, is doing now. Claire's, Sears, Kmart, many others have seen the need to do the same, lay off many employees, and reduce the number of stores.
Even companies as important or iconic as Lord & Taylor are going through trouble. In fact, precisely this chain of department stores saw the need to close the emblematic store that they had owned for a century on the famous 5th Avenue in New York.
We hope that things improve and our favorite stores do not continue to experience losses so that they can stay on their feet.
