Mexican designer Vero Solís knows well the power that fashion has to inspire and communicate. So her new t-shirt collection has motivational messages for Latinas. Surely you have already seen their shirts on the Univision screen since they have been worn by talents from the chain such as Ana Patricia Gámez, Lili Estefan, Aleyda Ortiz and Alejandra Espinoza. In addition, the singers Karol G, Maite Perroni and Chiquis Rivera -who will perform at the first gala of Nuestra Belleza Latina this Sunday- and the 30 contestants of the reality show will wear T-shirts of the artist from Monterrey with powerful phrases.

"I was asked to make a mini collection of designs and proposals for t-shirts with empowerment phrases for women that enhance all these virtues of Latinas who are hard-working and successful," Solís tells PONTE BELLA, who was inspired by the reality show. The presenter of the contest, Alejandra Espinoza, wore several of the shirts during the auditions of the show. "It has had an incredible impact, it has really liked it," acknowledges the creator.

The creator of the successful brand Josefina, who highlights her pride in her Mexican roots, chose phrases like Latinas can (Latinas can), Fight like a girl (Limitless) for this refreshing collection of t-shirts. "It is for women who have no limit, who fight, that is how we saw word games with which women felt identified," she says. “I think that women feel very identified with what we wear. Clothing is a demonstration of what we have inside.”

In the case of the Josefina brand, it uses phrases related to Mexican folklore such as “Chiquita pero picosa”, and highlights the color and richness of the Mexican culture with embroidered jackets and woven blouses, among other pieces.

The designer admits that her clients are enterprising girls who are not afraid to express themselves. “When you give these messages with fashion it's more fun, they feel like they can play around with it more and they don't feel like they're carrying a banner. Proud of who they are, but with fashion”, explains Solís about the phrases on the t-shirts.

The artist prefers materials such as denim that you can use daily because it is comfortable and has a casual look. “The work is done by hand, embroidered in Mexico in our workshop and it is what makes them like jewel pieces. It is not just a t-shirt, it carries that value of embroidery by hand that gives it that statement and makes it a unique piece,”she says.
