Kate Spade, the popular portfolio designer, was found dead this morning by a member of her service staff at her apartment in New York City. According to reports, Spade killed himself by hanging himself with a scarf. Authorities declared her dead at the scene. According to sources, Spade left a note for her family, but its content has not been revealed.

Spade leaves her husband Andy Spade, to whom she was married for twenty-four years, and their daughter, Frances Beatrix Spade, 13.
