This last year has been one of many changes in the field of fashion, especially in some of the most popular brands which have had to sell their shares to other companies and even close many of their stores. J. Crew, Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Macy's and American Apparel are some of the companies that have undergone drastic changes this year. Now it was the turn of the Vince Camuto shoe line, which will now belong to Aldo Group Inc.
The famous shoe and accessories company acquired the right to Vince Camuto's designs as part of their expansion and they are confident that this union will do both companies very good.
"The two companies are strongly focused on their products and each has developed in different directions," David Bensadoun, Aldo's chief executive, said in a statement. "While Aldo Group comes from a retail culture and has focused on growing internationally, Camuto Group is an expert in wholesale and is a strong brand in the US market. We are very excited because we know there are ways that these two organizations can help each other grow.”
Although the exact reasons why Camuto Group decided to sell the right for its shoe designs to Aldo Group Inc. were not revealed, market experts think the companies are adjusting to the changes and are looking to improve sales. Of course, the Camuto family will continue to lead the brand's clothing and accessories line.
Hopefully this strategy benefits both brands and that we can continue to enjoy the modern and affordable designs they have always offered.
