Paris Fashion Week is in full swing and many collections have been unveiled. One of the most striking? Balmain's, by the young and innovative designer Olivier Rousteing. As always, the collection included avant-garde and elaborate pieces, with the creator's distinctive aesthetic.
Gigi Hadid, who was in charge of opening the show, and Kendall Jenner were the stars of the parade that took place at the Potocki hotel in Paris. Both Hadid and Jenner came out on the catwalk on two occasions and drew much attention not only for the designs they wore, the mysterious makeup with smoky eyes and the braids in their hair, but for the golden metal they wore on their lips giving it a touch more rock and enigmatic to the pieces. Will we see this accessory also on the street?
In the collection earth colors prevail, as well as cream, gold, brown and orange, and materials such as leather and suede.
"While working on the launch of our line of accessories, looking through the archives I was introduced to the beautiful mystery of Pierre Balmain's patterns and inevitably reflected that in this show," said the designer about the collection. “As always, our pride in being one of the most powerful fashion houses in Paris, our studio strives for intricate embroidery, original construction and incredible leather work. That is reflected in the new accessories collection. Both are part of the same, reflecting the DNA of Balmain and the young spirit of freedom and rebellion of the present”.
The parade also featured animal print dresses, t-shirts with images of wolves, snakeskin boots, feathered pieces and fur coats.
