Actress Jena Malone Writes A Message On Instagram

Jena Malone says that parenting is not a simple thing. This was stated this week through her Instagram, where along with a blurred photo of her with her 14-month-old son Ode Mountain, she wrote about motherhood, depression and self-esteem. "I have nothing beautiful to say. Except this fight is real, "wrote the actress. “The sharp edges are too much to hold without compassion. I am struggling with this. I feel compassion for myself in this moment of growth in my life. I know I am not alone in this. I guess I just needed to share, hoping to be seen and not feel so alone."

Since her baby's arrival, Malone has been out of the public eye. "I have been very inactive on social media since the birth of my son," she wrote in November. “It was not a conscious break. I just didn't have time to post that much. The things that seemed important to me before my son came into the world are not so important now.”

Earlier this month Malone wrote a message to her son promising to teach him everything she knew. “I can only lead by taking one step at a time. I can only show you how our history is lived on our skin, the good, the bad and the ugly of it,”he wrote. “I can only teach you rituals of gratitude and love. There is only so much I can do for you until you have to do it for yourself.”
