Little Monsters put your paws up, as Lady Gaga is heading to Coachella!
It was revealed last year that the Queen B herself, Beyoncé, would be heading to the desert to headline Coachella. While that news was amazing, Beyoncé then stepped things up by revealing that she was pregnant with twins (and she did it with a totally extra but iconic photoshoot)!
Of course, this brought up some debate as to whether she would be able to perform at the festival, which takes place across two weekends in April. Then, earlier this month (February 23rd), it was announced that Beyoncé had been forced to pull out of the festival.
“Following the advice of her doctors to keep a less rigorous schedule in the coming months, Beyonce has made the decision to forgo performing at the 2017 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival,” a statement from Team B read. However, Goldenvoice and Parkwood are pleased to confirm that she will be a headliner at the 2018 festival. Thank you for your understanding.”
However, fear not festival goers as someone equally as incredible has been announced to take her spot.
Yep, Lady Gaga has been revealed as the new headliner for Coachella, and we can't stop screaming
Sharing a revised lineup on Instagram, Gaga wrote:
Let's party in the desert! ?✌️?”
Gaga will play the Saturday night of the festival (April 15th and April 22nd), and joins fellow headliners Kendrick Lamar and Radiohead.
Given that she recently announced a huge world tour in support of her latest album Joanne - oh and there's the small matter of her SLAYING the Super Bowl halftime performance this year - Lady Gaga seems like a great choice to stand in for Beyoncé while she rests up and makes sure those Beybies are healthy and well.
Also, you can't deny that Lady Gaga will put on one HECK of a show, especially now that she's shown that she's still a proper popstar.
Looks like we'll be donning our pink cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and heading to the desert for Gaga x Coachella!
