May 5 has become one of the most popular celebrations in the United States during the second quarter of the year. Despite the fact that many mistakenly assume that on this date the independence of Mexico is celebrated, in reality on this day the Battle of Puebla is commemorated, which took place in 1862.
Despite the confusion that exists, May 5 has become a day to celebrate the influence of Mexican culture in the United States through its food, music and of course drinks.
Take a look at these delicious cocktail recipes that can give all the Mexican flavor that your celebration of this date needs.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 oz mezcal
1/2 oz cointreau liqueur
1/2 oz bacon syrup
1/4 oz lemon juice
1/4 oz maple syrup
1 slice of pineapple for garnish
1 piece of bacon for garnish
preparation:
Add all the ingredients to a tall glass with ice. Shake well and filter contents into an old fashioned glass. Garnish with pineapple and bacon.

Ingredients:
1 ½ ounce of Don Julio Blanco Tequila
2/3 ounces orange liqueur
2/3 ounces lemon juice
2 ounces of cooked pineapple juice
5 coriander sprigs
Jamaican salt *
preparation:
Combine Don Julio Blanco Tequila, orange liqueur, lemon juice and cooked pineapple juice in a shaker with ice. Shake well.
Filter the contents into an old-fashioned double glass with ice and jamaica salt at the bottom of the glass.
Garnish with coriander.
Ingredients:
1 ½ ounce of Tequila Don Julio 70
2/3 ounces white vermouth
2 grapefruit bitters dash
Grapefruit shell spiral
preparation:
Combine Don Julio 70 Tequila, white vermouth, and grapefruit bitters in a glass to mix with ice. Mix well.
Filter the contents into a coupe glass with ice.
Garnish with a grapefruit peel spiral.

2 parts White spur
¾ part of Grand Marnier
1 part fresh lemon juice
½ part agave nectar or sugar syrup (1 part water, 1 part sugar)
preparation:
Shake over ice and strain into an old fashioned glass. Garnish with a lemon wedge.

2 ounces silver tequila
1 1/2 ounces pear puree
1/2 ounce of morita syrup
3/4 ounces of lemon juice
preparation:
Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well. Filter the contents into a chilled glass without ice. It can be decorated with a tag.

¼ teaspoon Worcestershire (Worcestershire sauce)
¼ teaspoon of Tabasco
¾ oz. lemon juice
1 oz. from Clamato

preparation:
Use the lemon juice to frost the rim of the glass with a mixture of tagine and salt. Add the ingredients to the glass: maggi, worcestershire, tabasco, lemon juice and clamato - and mix. Fill half the glass with ice and then empty the jalisco star beer. Stir the Michelada mixture into the glass and garnish with a lemon wedge.
