Since the arrival of their daughter, Alaïa, two years ago, Christmas at the home of Adamari López and Toni Costa have been reinvented. "Before, we spent it at my parents' house and traveled to Puerto Rico," says the 46-year-old Puerto Rican. “Today we are sharing this beautiful tradition in Miami. See the arrival of Santa Claus, have dinner with the family, open the gifts. That's how we did it when my parents were alive at his house, now we move him.”
In fact, the decoration of his residence in the town of South Miami begins to change from Thanksgiving. “For me, the table is essential. It is important to have a very nice table prepared with flowers,”says the host of Un nuevo día (Telemundo). "My family relaxes me [jokes] because there are times when they say yes [I look like a] storage for dishes because I love shopping for all opportunities, especially for Christmas."
For this year's dinner, he will invite eight members of his family and to greet them as kings he will adorn his table with touches of purple, gold and silver. "We make [on] Christmas Eve the ham [baked] with a recipe from my sister," says the Puerto Rican. “I'm not such a good cook, so we spread out the chores on those days. I like to decorate the table, to have everything ready so that when we have the food it looks spectacular”.
The one who gives Mami a hand with the decoration is Alaïa. "She is curious. Sometimes she helps out with breakfast, but she thinks that she is helping and we leave her among the things that she can, even if the cutlery is badly placed, she puts them on,”López laughs. "[It is part of] all the events in the house."
His daddy is not far behind, because the 34-year-old dancer, in addition to decorating the Christmas tree with his daughter and his fiancée, brings his Spanish culinary touch. “We do many things when we say goodbye to the year. We put on yellow or red shorts”, highlights the actress. "We run around the house with the suitcases and always decree the positive things we want in the year." Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
