La La Anthony had one message to make clear last night at the Met Gala: that she is “unbreakable.”
The former MTV host arrived at fashion's biggest event of the year without a date and stunned in a gorgeous Thai Nguyen Atelier sheer long-sleeved black gown and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. She complemented the look with a high ponytail and natural makeup. Before her arrival, she shared a photo of her look with a post on Instagram captioned, “Unbreakable #metgala.”
If the look wasn't enough to make a statement, her accessory choice had plenty to say. The Power actress had a handful of rings-every finger to be exact-expect one. Anthony wasn't wearing anything on her ring finger. Take a look:
This solo appearance comes a month after reports of her shocking split with Knicks star Carmelo Anthony following a nearly decade-long relationship and seven years of marriage. The professional basketball player allegedly had an affair and now they are living separately after a rocky couple of months, according to TMZ.. La La and Carmelo share 10-year-old Kiyan and are currently working on a custody agreement.
Whatever's meant to be, will be. I'm a firm believer in that and I'll make it work,”La La told Access Hollywood days before the split was made public.
The ex-couple arrived together last year at the 2016 Met Gala with La La in a red plunging gown by Nicolas Jebran that was embellished in Swarovski crystals. They also attended the annual gala in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014.
