The Puerto Rican Lunay and his new single “Fin de semana” were the stars of the Up Next program on the Apple Music platform, which continues to bet on the new generation of artists.

Thank you so much for all the support and love. From the first day I have felt like part of the family and I have felt the love of all of you. Believe me we go for more. Lots of music is on the way to Apple Music, so get ready, said the singer in a statement.

The monthly music program aims to enhance emerging talent by featuring it on their platforms and using all of their resources to help you in your career.

"From the moment I listened to the Lunay demo, I knew he was an artist that Apple Music should support," said Apple Music Latin programmer Jerry Pullés. "The melodies were memorable but fresh and although she was just starting her career, she presented them with the confidence of a top-notch artist."

Lunay came out of anonymity with his song “Soltera”, which after its launch last February opened the doors to become the new star of urban music. But his work started much earlier after he had won a Freestyle contest when he was in first grade of high school, where he was able to meet his idol Daddy Yankee.

"I looked him in the eye and said, 'I'm not going to stop working until I can record with you or work with your people,'" he told Yankee back then.

His dream came true and now he rubs shoulders with the greats.
