Michael Cohen, Donald Trump's former staff attorney, is sorry.
A note published by People in its online version explains that one of Cohen's biggest regrets is having lied to Melania Trump, the country's first lady, about her husband's alleged romance with the porn star, Stormy Daniels.
"He [Trump] asked me to pay an adult movie star with whom he had an affair and to lie to his wife about it, which I did," Cohen confessed Wednesday, during his testimony before the House Oversight Committee.
“Lying to the first lady is one of my greatest regrets… She is a kind, good person. I respect her greatly, and she didn't deserve this, said Cohen.
In his testimony, Cohen submitted a copy of the electronic bank transfer for sexual abuse by more than a dozen women. However, the president has flatly denied these allegations.
Cohen also alleged that Trump allegedly directed him to use his money so that the funds used could not be traced back to the president, People reports. That would represent a negative impact on his campaign, Cohen said. The Trump administration denies being involved in that matter. On the other hand, People explains that Melania Trump has never spoken about the alleged love affair between Trump and Daniels. In an interview with NBC News, Melania even said she knew that people and the media speculate about her marriage.
